The Cappuccino Years arrives fifteen years after the previous two series. Adrian Mole, with his life heading nowhere is now 30. He still lives at home and has managed to be a single father. In spite of no talent he still strives to be an intellectual writer of sorts. Around the same time, the love of his life, Pandora is now a doctor and has also become the Labour MP of the town. Her ambitious outlook towards life holds Adrian no where in the picture. Adrian soon discovers he has yet another son thus leading to greater confusion. Meanwhile, he receives fifteen minutes of fame on a satellite channel cooking show called 'Offally Good'.
Despite great confusion and insanity around him Adrian manages to have a good heart and this eventually provides him a modest gain in life. Adrian Mole is played by Stephen Mangan, and Pandora played by Helen Baxendale. With addition of some new characters, the whole cast is different from the previous series. Stephen Mangan has managed to capture the sad realism that is characteristic of Adrian Mole. Despite this all the actors have been greatly just to the characters portrayed by them and this has helped retain the comic element through excellent script and comic timing.
The Cappuccino Years contains all the brilliant humor that is the life of Adrian Mole. It has been extremely well cast. All in all, a wonderful show, inspired from a wonderful novel.
